Love that 'The Jonah' cover. The 'Night Shift' one is great as well - the eye holes are actually cut outs aren't they?

Ah… That copy of Tessier's The Nightwalker. I still remember finding that in a used book shop a few days after I'd moved to Berkeley. Great friggin' book and a damn fine cover. I need to reread that thing.

The Jonah definitely has a cool appeal to it, while Night's Yawning Peal is quietly disconcerting. I guess it's the snake tongues that does it.

Lincoln Brown, yes the eyes were cut-out on 'Night Shift'. That's the copy I had way back when.

I worked in my parents' bookstores during this period and recall shelving all of the great horror novels of the day. That was a genuine boom for horror fiction.
