Theirs was a hideous secret. To keep it they needed
new blood. Without it they would be lost. All of them. And so they set
the trap.
The place was called Credence. A pleasant country town, set well away from, anywhere. For Clay and Holly Ryan, in search of a new home away from the city, it was a dream come true. But then the stranger came with the haunting memories of black rivers of violent death. And for Clay and Holly, Credence suddenly becomes a whirlwind of blood and terror as the hunt is on

I have this one. On my to read pile.
Thanks again for findin' this, sir. It's been 30+ years since the read, but I do remember a goo-tacular ending.
"Goo-tacular"! Now there's a blurb. And thanks for the intro to a title/cover I had no idea existed.
Anything horror, needs to be on my reading list, so I'm adding it. How have I never read this?! If you're really in to horror/dark fantasy type stuff, look up "Lucifer's Son", http://www.mavrodisergey.com/. It's by Sergey Mavrodi.
Just read this book over the weekend -- pretty good! I have a thing for Signet books... they delved into a lot of trashy stuff (lots of "critter" books, with insects and stuff on the rampage) but always had a decent level of quality. This was well-written and in the "Harvest Home" mode of new-residents-discovering-there's-something-screwy-going-on-in-an-idyllic-small-town horror.
