An astounding stepback image for an unremarkable '80s mainstream horror novel, Crooked Tree by Robert C. Wilson (Berkley Books, June 1981). The artist is Dario Campanile. He certainly outdid most other horror paperbacks of the era with this one! I mean, a werebear-lady feasting upon unfortunate shirtless dude...

Own this one, but, again, I have yet to read it. Maybe I should stop purchasing books and go through my stash? Wouldn't be such a bad idea, huh?
That stepback art is da shit! It made me step back for sure!
I read this on a camping trip which is the only reason it was even remotely scary.
Yeah I read a bit of it some years back and returned it to my shelf. *shrugs*
