Well, he doesn't really. But you know what I mean.
I had such high hopes for October - a classic King review, a classic Bradbury review, some vintage pulps and '80s anthologies - but alas, they will not be. Instead, I'll postpone them till after the Halloween party the GF and I are preparing, which is occupying most of my time this month. So for now, enjoy these lurid and lovely Guy N. Smith covers!
I know that last one says Werewolf, but it sure screams monkey to me...
ReplyDeleteYou know what Will, I love all of Smith's prolific output as well as all those terrifically lurid covers that adorned them.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, his writing just stopped me in my tracks whener I picked up one of his novels & tried to get into it. And, boy, did I try. And even managed to get through one all the way through, but I've forgotten which title it was ( it's currently packed away in one of my plethora of book boxes waiting for me to unpack it & find a place on one of my shelves, something I've made a couple of spirited efforts at doing after my recent move, but which I'm not at all finished with yet ), but it was like pulling teeth to push my way through it. I know that many love his work, but it just fails to keep my interest.

I've only read one - KILLER CRABS, reviewed elsewhere on this blog - and that was mostly dull. He's not bad enough to be truly entertaining!
