Meat the Authors! John Skipp and Craig Spector 1988
Ha ha ha - get it?! I had to share this awesomely ridiculous, or ridiculously awesome, illustration of splatterpunk maestros John Skipp and Craig Spector, which can be found in their rollicking 1988 rock'n'roll horror epic The Scream. Enjoy!
Yeah, I remember reading this in high school. I saw an interview with Skipp recently. He no longer had such a lovely head of hair. Neither so I, actually.
This reminds me that I really want to read some works by these two. I can't believe I forgot to order anything by them during my last Amazon spending spree.
They were/are some weird dudes - but who in the "splatterpunk" gang wasn't? Always loved their weirdo biographies and ranting - even when they "went serious" in (I think) "Deadlines".
Loved DEADLINES in high school & its more serious tone... but that was a long time ago! Still have my copy, will get around to rereading it sometime...

ReplyDeleteI own a copy of The Scream and had forgotten that this illustration is in the book!
ReplyDeleteI forgot it was in there too - otherwise I'd have scanned it long ago!
ReplyDeleteAlso posted it to Skipp's FB wall.
