Even the Brain Has Bugs

  1. I read that book, back when it came out. My sister had bought it for me for my birthday, so I felt compelled to finish it. I was actually inspired to write my own bad blurbs in the back of the book, in case it fell into unsuspecting hands.

    SPOILER

I don't remember much about the book's details but the ending was spectacularly disappointing. The whole world gave up, and literally buried, all computer technology, in big landfills. Even back then, this was a preposterous notion.

  2. I dunno, the premise sounds delightfully silly but I'd read anything by Roszak after the absolute masterpiece that is Flicker.

  3. I agree with Adam abive --Roszak's FLICKER is indeed amazing, one of my top ten all time fave books (and probably falls under the Too Much Horror Fiction banner) so I may need to give Roszak's BUGS a chance.

  4. FLICKER sounds vaguely familiar to me so I looked it up, don't know how I missed the Bantam paperback from the early '90s! Def sounds like something I'd dig so thanks for pointing it out everybody.

  5. Making movies for penguins...Just keep that in mind as you work through Flicker. It really is on the shortlist of best novels I've ever read. But I'm that guy who likes Laymon, so...

  6. I love the tagline. "FIRST, A COMPLETELY UNRELATED NOVEL BY A DIFFERENT AUTHOR... NOW-"
