The image reminds me of a teenage Jodie Foster and her bewitched dollhouse in an episode from 70s TV series GHOST STORY. She put little raisin cookie people inside that were symbolic of her fmaily members. Melvyn Douglas played her wicked grandfather. Anyone remember it? Creepy episode locked away forever in my memory.
@John:Woah, No I dont remember that Jodie Foster ep. But now I have to see it John! Is that the Ghost Story box set that had Sebastien Cabot as host until it morphed into repackaged Sixth Sense eps? Yawn. If so I've been tempted to get that one since it was released. But was resistant due to the outrageous price...I remember liking it as a kid a lot.
Yes, highwayknees, the Jodie Foster episode is in that complete DVD set. It was "Night Gallery" that morphed into the often very dull ESP series "The Sixth Sense." "Ghost Story" was retitled "Circle of Fear." All the "Circle of Fear" episodes are included in the DVD set released under the original series title of "Ghost Story". I bought that set and I'd say it's a mix of good and bad, about 50/50. But the good episodes are pretty darn good for 70s TV.
Ah, you are correct Sir John! It WAS Night Gallery that withered away to The SS and pissed me off ! I will have to get that Circle of Fear box eventually.
Now do you remember a late 60's Brit series that ran on -I think abc tv, maybe as a summer replacement show called: Journey Into Fear? It had this really cool, haunting whistling theme that played while a mystery man walked through an abandoned amusement park. I bought a couple of eps from the show on VHS on ebay that were badly transfered. But Im afraid it is mostly lost for good. I'd sure like to hear that opening theme again though!

ReplyDeleteGranddaughter of Evelyn Waugh, so she has quite the literary pedigree!
