The first cover - Return to Octavia - is the best one. I mean, if the Cleveland Armory says its "Well worth shivering over" then I'm sold. Mary Roberts Rinheart's "This Strange Adventure" also has a very nice cover, very understated but an intriguing image nonetheless.
Once again, I am compelled to point out the presence of the great George Zeil (GWEN IN GREEN, DRACULA BEGAN) -- that's his work on THIS STRANGE ADVENTURE, one of about a dozen Rinehart re-issues he illustrated in the early 70s.

ReplyDeleteWasn't sure if that was Zeil or not, so didn't want to mention it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Will -- I'll keep pointing 'em out whenever they show up.
