Awesome gallery of images Will :-) - DEMON LOVERS AND STRANGE SEDUCTIONS, I dont think you can get a much better title for a book! Award for best cover goes to DRACULA IN LOVE I think.
The first and last covers, The Curse of the Undead and Demon Lovers, are by Jeff Jones, who was quite prolific as a cover artist in the 70's. Great covers, all of them! I wish I had a copy of Space Vampires. Ever since I saw Lifeforce I've wanted to read the original novel.
Two Jones covers in this post makes it full of win, particularly the one for "The Curse of the Undead". Love that image. Too bad we lost Jones. Makes me sad.

ReplyDeleteA very cool gallery indeed. Colin Wilson's The Space Vampires was of course the basis for Tobe Hooper's 1985 film Lifeforce.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know "The Hunger" started out as a book or is it a different "The Hunger"?
ReplyDeleteStrieber's novel is indeed the basis for the movie.
ReplyDeleteOh, and the creepy vampire girl from that SARAH BRADLEY is from the 1970 movie COUNT YORGA, VAMPIRE.
That second one looks like a young Lilly Munster. And the third one like a young Squeeky Fromm.
ReplyDeleteLauria's RAGA SIX has one of my fave sexy covers.
ReplyDeleteohhhhh, you found the girl from Count Yorga. electrifying!

I have that copy of THE HUNGER! Also, man, I sure wish they still put naked ladies on book covers. Those were the days.
ReplyDeleteThose were the days indeed...
ReplyDeleteI love some of these titles like "Some Of Your Blood". Did any of these make the bestseller's list I wonder? Ha ha.

ReplyDeleteStrieber's The Hunger and Theodore Sturgeon's "Some of your blood" were both pretty good.
