The Final Three Titles in the Paperbacks from Hell Reprint Series

Well, the time has come: after seven years and almost two dozen titles, Valancourt Books' series of horror fiction reprints, curated by me and Grady Hendrix and inspired by our 2017 nonfiction book Paperbacks from Hell, will come to an end. I know that's not news you wanna hear! We're proud of what we've accomplished and the books we chose. But more and more, alas, it was getting difficult to acquire the rights to various books we wanted to get back into print. The three upcoming titles will be:

  1. So it ends. I onlty wish that one of these three could've been INVISIBLE FIRE by Pat Graversen; I'd have bought that one in a minute. THE FARM looks good, though.

IIRC, THE FARM made a sequel titled THE CITY, am I right? I remember buying the book PAPERBACKS FROM HELL and seeing something at the end referencing the second book's
front cover. An illustration, I think.

  2. Well, darn. Hadn't bought all of the PFH titles, but enjoyed the ones I did. Valancourt already has an edition of The Happy Man available, though -- maybe you can get them to squeeze in one more title. Thanks to you and Grady for curating a nice set of books, and for the book that started it. It's been a gas.

  3. I know it isn't in your control but it feels like a bit of a cop out that they are just re-releasing a title (Happy Man) that they already sell as a PBFH.

    1. Why not? They did the same thing with HELL HOUND a while ago.

  5. You know, THE FARM kind of gives me vibes of the cult horror film PIGS, one of my favorites.
