Michael McDowell Fangoria Interview, 1984

Thanks to TMHF reader Peter F. for sending me this terrific interview with Michael McDowell (1950-1999), published in Fangoria #40, December 1984. Peter graciously emailed me several other Fango interviews with other '80s horror greats, and I will be posting them in days to come. Hope you dig these behind-the-pages looks into some of our fave writers of the era....

  1. I still think the Blackwater series was great. It started the idea of the serialized horror novel in the current age. Afterwards, John Saul's "Blackstone", followed by Stephen King's "Green Mile".

  2. I'm reading Blackwater right now and, man, this was a lovely reminder of what animates the man behind the words, especially the bit about always killing the characters he loves most.
