And what was the ultimate purpose of the mission that's been going on for generations? An ending like that just doesn't work if there are loose ends left hanging and this is a big one that left me scratching my head too much, and I say this as someone who generally Caseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18195073158983528498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-74135072858382006842017-02-10T18:53:49.470-08:002017-02-10T18:53:49.470-08:00This was kind of hit or miss for me… until the end...This was kind of hit or miss for me… until the ending. I also didn’t know why Willow was conducting the “Search,” but I just assumed it was something I’d missed. Soooo, the reveal was such an AH-HA! moment for me that I gave it an additional star on Goodreads just for that ending. 3Fshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01343686567224815165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-26524014546168442002016-12-16T06:48:40.186-08:002016-12-16T06:48:40.186-08:00This continues to be a favorite novel some 30 year...This continues to be a favorite novel some 30 years after I read it. It is in a sense to much of horror fiction as the 1963 version of The Haunting is to the execrable 1999 version. If you adore that remake, you will not enjoy this novel with its subtleties, slow build, and intertwining stories.Gregory.Frosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12392811532571845618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-10954983888226488482016-05-11T11:02:41.020-07:002016-05-11T11:02:41.020-07:00According to his website his latest book is from D...According to his website his latest book is from December 2003, so... no?

http://www.williamhhallahan.com/index.htmtoomuchhorrorfictionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09035642702510777844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-49398461153559565452016-05-11T09:37:17.010-07:002016-05-11T09:37:17.010-07:00Is he still writing? Is he still writing?Steve Degnimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00603225620302374876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-86454213781521879132015-10-13T01:10:45.841-07:002015-10-13T01:10:45.841-07:00Still have the pan paperback. It is a really good, scary read; as you said, notable for its intense, forboding atmosphere of dread and hopelessness. Sad that it is so forgotten today - remember seeing brief television commercials for it back in the day.Rob Kirbyhttp://robkirbycomics.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-57304836358058376672010-10-14T08:39:51.909-07:002010-10-14T08:39:51.909-07:00Wow, Will. The author was a friend of the family so his books were always around. I began reading his books as a young teen since I had met him--hard to top that novelty factor!--and was especially hooked on these two. The Search had me guessing until the last page.
