The novel is readily available online everywhere still, but hasnt been reprinted since the early 80s. Def pick it up though for a strange slow-burn read.highwaykneeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00458606266831050852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-44997536704052673742018-10-28T13:33:08.263-07:002018-10-28T13:33:08.263-07:00I've yet to have a copy of the novel nearby, w...I've yet to have a copy of the novel nearby, which is a bit sad since the film, a suspense film where Rynn doesn't actively do anything actively nasty to anyone...until, well, she has no choice...was a great favorite of mine when I first saw it at about Jodie Foster's age at filming. Being a intellectual kid in a northeastern small town certainly had some resonance for me. <br /><br /Todd Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01815516018079824802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-54187970817611960842018-10-28T12:46:50.274-07:002018-10-28T12:46:50.274-07:00@wolf: Wow! Enjoyed them both-he had a certain touch all his own fro "quiet horror". I lost my copy of "The Children Are Watching" years ago-but now I am compelled to hunt another copy down. I dont believe I've ever seen a copy highwaykneeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00458606266831050852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-82157148427143967452018-10-24T05:50:06.221-07:002018-10-24T05:50:06.221-07:00Synchronicity! I read Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane years ago, but am thinking of giving it a re-read soon. Yeah, it's kind of horror-adjacent (so is The Children are Watching), but, it's good.Zwolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02364540771153476179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-11468210901133356022018-10-23T21:30:02.690-07:002018-10-23T21:30:02.690-07:00Wow! It's been so long since I've seen it, yet it does show up on every now and again. I haven't read the book, but I have seen it in used bookstores. I have a fondness for these old 70s novels, so I'll probably check it out at some point.Kurthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13890931403701897892noreply@blogger.com
