Nolan. Helltracks is like 3 stories (including The Train) that Nolan attempted to cobble together into one book. I read it in the Charles L. Grant edited Fears anthology (which also has the highly recommended story Deathtracks by Dennis Etchison, which is not about trains at all.)Horrific Childhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07131987801893597205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-30748482249721794642017-04-29T01:41:36.978-07:002017-04-29T01:41:36.978-07:00https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hell-Train-Christopher-Fo...https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hell-Train-Christopher-Fowler/dp/190799243XGarden Elfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04920635577922620214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-6884669894604871282017-04-23T22:19:19.368-07:002017-04-23T22:19:19.368-07:00#2 Definitely isn't NIGHT TRAIN (which is grea...#2 Definitely isn't NIGHT TRAIN (which is great, btw). There's a chance it's DOWN BOUND TRAIN (1973) by Bill Garnett, reissued as HELLTRAIN in 1988. I own the former, though I haven't read it yet, but just flipping through it seems like it could be a match. I'm afraid to look too closely for fear of spoiling myself. The train has 5 passengers, however, not 3, and they're Jack Tripperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05033020329763413508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-8487647521684075362017-04-21T08:37:39.551-07:002017-04-21T08:37:39.551-07:00Based on this writeup I suspect this book is far t...Based on this writeup I suspect this book is far too insane to be #2, but the title gave me pause: perhaps NIGHT TRAIN by Thomas F. Nolan?

I'm wanting to say #1 was in Twisted Tales, but I can't find such a cover online, so I think I'm wrong. But, that one does sound familiar. I thought maybe Gore Shriek, but, nope.

Zwolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02364540771153476179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-41127984580105763062017-04-20T04:23:21.219-07:002017-04-20T04:23:21.219-07:00#2 is maybe Ghost Train by Stephen Laws or The Tra...#2 is maybe Ghost Train by Stephen Laws or The Train by Diane Hoh (although that is a YA book but still fits the age and description)Space-Badger13https://www.blogger.com/profile/05878263463889154260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825351661748594023.post-33991379165960075392017-04-19T13:11:09.500-07:002017-04-19T13:11:09.500-07:00#6 is 'House of Caine', by Ken Eulo.
