I don't think too many people have ever done it. I was unable to get very far into George RR Martin's FEVER DREAM when it came out. Skipp and Spector's THE SCREAM, likewise. But that was when I was 12 and I have not reread them, I am 34 now. I think that the best part of the book for me even then was that Alice Cooper wrote an introduction some thing about getting a cat head from a female fan.
